So, we slept like logs in our little cabin and then this morning we rose and had our breakfast of Pan au chocolat and hot coffee! Again the french did themselves proud! Then we sat facing the prow of the ship and watched the shadows of Santander become brighter until we could see the windows of the houses! Then the call came for us to get back to our cars and it was no time until we were driving up the ramp and off the ship, into the smokey bustling town, following all the other cars around and out onto the open road.
Bill never dithered once, driving on the right as if he’d done it all his life. TomTom directed us calmly to the tiny town of Bayero near Bilbao where we found our little campsite (with a huge pool that drew squeals from Little m) and we set up shop for the night. The campsite is sweet, quite big, and high on a hill so the views are amazing... but the loos are horrific and there isn’t much to do or see, so we’ll move on in the morning and head for Zaragoza.
